AI Skunkworks Dedicated Compute Node
AI Skunkworks is a student club at Northeastern University that provides students a platform to perform research in the field of Artificial Intelligence & Data analysis. We help students become industry-ready by providing them all the resources they need for a “hands-on” learning experience.
As data around us grows, developing AI & ML applications that can process large data require compute resources. Our researchers currently use shared compute resources provided by Research Computing team at Northeastern University. These resources are shared by multiple research groups within Northeastern and groups from 5 different universities. In order to expand our community and our scope of work, we seek your help in purchasing a dedicated compute node exclusively for our club.
AI Skunkworks was formed in 2019 under the guidance of Professor Nicholas Brown. Professor Nik is a Computer Science PhD from UCLA. He is currently the advisor of our club and brings 10 + years of experience in AI/ML industry to guide all our researchers in their work. With his guidance, students have been able to learn skills and master technologies. They then go on to lead a group of students and hence build a knowledge transfer system. At the heart of this structure, is a core underlying principle - “Learn by doing”. We encourage our members to get their hands dirty with real time problems rather than just focusing on the theoretical concepts involved.
