Asian American Center Support Black Lives
We, the Asian American community at Northeastern, believe that it is important for Asian Americans and other minority communities to fight with and support the Black community. As an organization consisting of people of color, it is our responsibility to speak up and stand alongside the Black community. We are looking to fundraise $2,500 that will be matched in donation by the Asian American Center to various social justice initiatives.
The beneficiaries of this fundraiser are
The Massachusetts Bail Fund is committed to the harm reduction of freeing individuals serving pre-trial sentences, and to abolishing pre-trial detention and supervision in the long-term.
The Equal Justice Initiative is committed to ending mass incarceration and excessive punishment in the United States, to challenging racial and economic injustice, and to protecting basic human rights for the most vulnerable people in American society.
BAMS Fest is a cultural movement led by Greater Boston Black and Brown artists, culture makers and creative entrepreneurs who are on the front lines of racial equity, spatial justice, and economic empowerment.
The Marsha P. Johnson Institute (MPJI) protects and defends the human rights of BLACK transgender people. We do this by organizing, advocating, creating an intentional community to heal, developing transformative leadership, and promoting our collective power.
