Help Us Create Fire-Resistant Plants!
The International Genetically Engineered Machine (iGEM) competition is a global synthetic biology competition that challenges teams to design, build, and test biological systems to solve real-world problems. For the 2025 competition cycle, our Northeastern iGEM team has set out to address the global environmental crisis of wildfires by creating FloraShield, a novel and eco-friendly method to make plants fire-resistant! With you support, NU iGEM will have access to cutting-edge scientific equipment that will allow us to run the experiments necessary to bring this project to life. With less than 2 months until we start working in the lab, we are eager to prepare our team with the tools, training, and resources they will need to make this project a success!
