The Red & Black, Northeastern’s only student-run sports magazine, is proud to present The History of the Husky—a groundbreaking initiative dedicated to capturing and celebrating the rich History of Northeastern Athletics. For the past two years, our dedicated team of students has been working to collect, preserve, and retell the stories of NU’s varsity, club, and intramural sports. This project will be the first comprehensive effort to document the incredible legacy of Huskies sports.
The History of the Husky initiative is more than just a collection of stories; it celebrates community, tradition, and Husky pride. Our goal is to bridge the gap between past and present, connecting alumni and current students through a shared love of sports and Northeastern’s athletic heritage.
The main thing we have been working on is The History of the Husky book. A comprehensive book is the centerpiece of this initiative. It will be a detailed and beautifully designed book that chronicles the history of NU athletics from its early days to the present. This book will feature never-before-told stories, rare photos, and alumni and current student-athletes contributions.
