Help the Northeastern Women’s Research Engagement Network fundraise to reach their goals!
The IWC's Women’s Research Engagement Network (WREN)
The mission of the Women’s Research Engagement Network is to promote and celebrate the success of female-aligned individuals in research across all disciplines. WREN not only acts as a comprehensive resource for undergraduate women looking to get involved in research, but also directly helps these women find funding, pursue presentation opportunities, and foster meaningful mentor/mentee relationships. This semester, we had a cohort of 35+ Scholars and Fellows, 50+ faculty connections, and a 10+ student leadership team. Early this December, we also hosted the WREN Summit, which was the first interdisciplinary research conference in the nation specifically focused on highlighting the achievements of undergraduate women. As a new student-run initiative, we only hope to continue to grow over the next year. Through our programs, we will provide unique resources and funding to students who might not otherwise have had access to or have known where to find research opportunities. We hope that all women at Northeastern, including those from backgrounds underrepresented in academia (i.e. low-income, first-generation, and racial and/or ethnic minorities), will be able to explore their interest in research at the highest level. Beyond simply providing funding for or helping women secure research positions on campus, WREN seeks to create an interdisciplinary network of like-minded women passionate about research. With your support, we hope to continue to grow our program to reach as many women as possible and provide valuable opportunities for our members.
