The Downbeats A Cappella EP Recording Fundraiser!
Founded in 2000, The Downbeats are a fun, competitive, all-gender a cappella group from Northeastern University, devoted to spreading our melodic and in-house musical arrangements to all. The mission of The Downbeats is to not only create and perform music, but also to encourage each other to grow as musicians and individuals, coming together to form the diverse sound that is so characteristic of our group. Throughout this process, we create invaluable bonds with each other, and with the music that we create. We’re not just an a cappella group, but a family too.
Since our start, every successive generation of Downbeats has put in an immense amount of care and love into crafting their one-of-a-kind sound of their time, and we’re looking to capture and preserve the essence of The Downbeats in 2022. It has been several years since we’ve released new music, and the group is eager to professionally record some of our best performances.
In the coming months, we’re looking to preserve our most special arrangements for an EP—we need your help! Your contribution to our fundraiser will help us create a cohesive musical product that is sure to be some of our best work to date. Specifically, it will be used to pay for the fees associated with recording, mixing, mastering, and distributing the songs. We’re convinced that you’ll love listening to this EP, and we’re very excited to get started on this project.
